iPhone Duo

75 Kind, made for iPhone Duo.

75 Kind is a seventy-five-day challenge for iPhone that assumes you will miss a day and asks, in advance, what should happen when you do. Version 1.2.0 is optimized for iPhone Duo, including support for all device poses.

The Summit scene painted wide: a trail winds from a lit cabin and a campfire through forest and a canyon with a waterfall, up to a snow-capped peak with a flag on top, under a starry plum sky.

The update

What changes on iPhone Duo.

  • Wider paintings

All three painted places were repainted wider, so open flat, the map fills the display from edge to edge.

  • The system tab bar

Map, Today, Journey and Me sit in the system’s own tab bar, which turns vertical on iPhone Duo by itself.

  • The book pose

Held like a book, the map keeps one page and today’s card takes the other. Tap another day and the page turns to it.

  • Then and Now, as a spread

In Journey, Day 1 sits on one page and your latest photo on the other.

  • A shadow in the fold

As the phone closes, a shadow gathers in the map’s fold, deepest at the crease, like the gutter of a book.

In the app

What it looks like.

Three poses: open flat, held like a book, and closed.

Open flat

The painting runs to both edges of the open display, and the tab bar turns vertical.

  • The map open flat: the Summit painting runs to both edges of the display, with the trail climbing from the cabin through Meadow, Forest and Canyon to the summit at day seventy-five, and the tab bar down the right edge.
    The map, open flat.
  • Today open flat: Day 12 of 75 and the mission grid on the left page, and today’s five missions on the right page under an offer to count a run.
    Today, open flat.
  • Me open flat: ten days done, three grace days left, fourteen photos and the milestones on the left page, and the plan, feedback and list of missions on the right page.
    Me, open flat.

Held like a book

The map keeps one page and today’s card takes the other.

  • The book pose: the Summit map on the upper page, and today’s card for Day 12 with an Open today button on the lower page, with the tab bar along the bottom.
The map and today’s card, held like a book.

Closed

The outer display, with the phone shut.

  • The map on the closed phone: the Summit painting fills the screen, the trail climbs from the cabin to the summit, and the tab bar runs down the right edge.
    The map, closed.
  • Today on the closed phone: Day 12 of 75, the mission grid, and the first of today’s missions under an offer to count a run.
    Today, closed.
  • Me on the closed phone: ten days done, three grace days left, fourteen photos and the first of the milestones.
    Me, closed.
